A global framework for disclosing product-level information across supply chains, industries, and jurisdictions.

UPPS establishes a consistent framework for defining, structuring, and reporting product-level information. It enables organizations to disclose product composition, environmental impact, lifecycle characteristics, and supply chain information in a comparable and verifiable manner.

The Need

Why a Universal Product Passport Standard is Needed

Product-level information has become a structural requirement in global commerce. However, no globally accepted standard exists to define how such information should be disclosed.

Existing regulatory and voluntary frameworks require similar types of product information but define them inconsistently. This results in fragmented disclosure practices, limited comparability, and increased complexity for organizations operating across jurisdictions.

UPPS addresses this gap by establishing a unified framework for product-level disclosures. It provides a consistent basis for how product information should be defined, structured conceptually, and reported, enabling alignment across regulatory frameworks and jurisdictions.
